What Is Optavia? : Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?

Optavia is a multi-level marketing (MLM) firm that focuses on weight control by selling scientifically developed meals.
Their approach to weight loss is more comprehensive, emphasizing long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes.
The main goal is to assist you in developing new healthy habits in your life so that the improvements you make stick.
Optavia began as Taking Shape for Life in 2002/2003, providing meal replacements and other items in the health and wellness sector.
In 2016/2017, it was renamed to its present name. If you search for taking Shape for Life’s official webpage on Google, you will be referred to Optavia’s website.
Simply said, it’s the same firm under a new brand name.
The sole distinction is that Optavia is an independent firm, whereas Take Shape for Life was a division of Medifast, which was created in 1980.
This signifies that Optavia Company has been in business for a long time.
Optavia provides coaches that work to advise and support clients on their weight-loss journeys. Anyone can become a coach; you and I could both take advantage of the chance and begin earning money.
As a coach, you may earn money by selling weight loss goods and recruiting others so that you can profit from their sales.
People call this technique a pyramid scam since they may earn money by enrolling others in Optavia.
However, this does not imply that it is a Ponzi scam.
Let’s look at how the system works to gain a better idea of what’s going on.
How Optavia Works
Optavia works in a highly competitive health and wellness market. I’ve seen other large corporations, such as Amway and Isagenix, operate in the same market.
Optavia distinguishes itself from the competition by offering certain unique services and products.
They offer meal replacements, which are surrogates for solid food meals that are specifically designed to help you lose weight.
Furthermore, they consume the necessary nourishment for your body. Optavia’s meal replacements include the following:
- Bars
- Shakes
- Pancakes
- Mac & Cheese
- Brownies
Optavia also provides a coaching and community system, which is one of its key components.
Because the weight reduction journey can be lonely and requires a lot of dedication, having others to hold you responsible is essential.
Optavia has built a weight reduction coaching system and community where members may help one another.
Nonetheless, the Optavia system has several shortcomings, which I’ll discuss momentarily. But first, let’s examine their business plan in detail.
Is Optavia Another MLM Business Model?
Optavia’s business approach is Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), commonly known as network marketing or direct selling.
Instead of depending on traditional merchants to sell its items, a firm in this model relies on its members to market its products as independent distributors.
This implies you must purchase MLM items from independent distributors. They cannot be purchased directly from physical stores such as supermarkets.
As a result, if you wish to purchase Optavia’s meal replacement products, you must do so through one of their distributors.
If you wish to make money with this firm, you must first become a distributor by spending $199. Then you may start earning money by promoting their items to others.
Let me be clear: MLM does not imply fraud!
Yes, there are many fraudulent MLM firms and goods out there, but MLM is a genuine business concept, and some companies are truly legitimate.
Indeed, Optavia has a rather interesting compensation model, which I’ll elaborate on after I show you its primary components.

The Main Components Of Optavia: Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?
1. Health Coach
When you join Optavia, you will allegedly be assigned a “personal health coach” who will advise and hold you accountable on your weight reduction journey.
Nonetheless, these coaches are not really health professionals.
These so-called “health coaches” are merely Optavia distributors. Your health coach will be the individual who suggested this approach, and they will sell you their items.
You can also refer to them as sponsors.
As a result, please proceed with caution! They undoubtedly have more experience than you in terms of Optavia product understanding.
However, when it comes to health, you may know more than they do.
2. Habits of the Health System
Dr. Wayne Scott Anderson, the co-founder of Optavia, wrote this health advice.
It is a general handbook that provides advice on modifying your eating habits to improve your health in the long run.
3. Optavia Community
This includes activities and meetings with Optavia members.
It also includes daily text messages and phone calls with motivation and guidance to help you remain on track. This is one of the positive aspects of Optavia.
They are attempting to instill accountability throughout their whole community.
4. Fuelings
Optavia’s meal replacements are described in this manner. It offers about 60 different types of fuelings that are good for your health in the following ways:
- Fiber-rich, low in sugar and carbs
- High-quality proteins that aid in the preservation of lean muscle mass
- Probiotics are beneficial to intestinal health.
- There are no artificial flavors, colors, preserves, or sweeteners.
- Contains 20% of your daily mineral and vitamin requirements.
- Non-GMO
- Gluten-free.
It’s also worth noting that Optavia says that all of its fuels are supported by research, implying that they have corporate and medical backing.
Success Rate In Optavia: Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme
This is a factor that I keep returning to.
I’ve examined over 300 mlms, not to brag, but did you realize that the failure rate in MLM firms is much too high?
Most statistics reveal that with MLM firms, from 73 to 99 percent of people lose their whole investment.
Not unlike optavia, most individuals who join optavia lose money rather than make money.
This is not my opinion; according to their average income declaration, 30% of people earn nothing in 2017.
Aside from this, 70% of people earn less than $1000 each year.

Only 10% of the population earns more than $2500 each year.
This is why I continue to believe that this business model is doomed to fail.
I’m not surprised by this revenue declaration; it’s nothing new in the world of multi-level marketing.
The proprietors of these organizations arrange their MLMs in this manner.
Do you know where the majority of the money for MLM firms comes from?
From YOU!
You are the company’s most valuable customer.
Optavia Compensation Plan: Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?
It, like Optavia, has an extremely complicated compensation mechanism.
There are basically two methods to generate money in MLM….
- The first is to offer their items directly to customers and earn retail commissions on them. Retail commissions are the funds you will receive when you sell any product within an MLM firm. This commission is entirely determined by Opavia, and they have complete authority to reduce it at any time?
- The second is to recruit others beneath you and earn recurring commissions.
However, with Opavia, you will not generate money by hiring new employees.
Here is a video explaining it.
So, how does one make money with Optavia? Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?
To begin, you must purchase the $199 “Health Coach Business Kit” in order to be eligible for Optavia commissions.
This kit contains basic training and marketing materials to help you get started, and it is required.
After acquiring the kit, you may officially become an Optavia “Health Coach.”
Have you made any notes here? You don’t need any qualifications to become a health coach, thus Optavia’s health coaches aren’t medical professionals.
There are three major ways to generate money using Optavia, which are as follows:
- Health Coaches make money by promoting and selling their goods to others.
- Earned by adding new members to your downline as a business coach.
- Earned as a business leader by establishing and directing a team to your downline.
Although Optavia is not a pyramid scam, the only way to make a fortune with the firm is to recruit as many individuals as possible into your downline and lead the team.
As you progress through the ranks, you will receive more awards and incentives. Your income will be determined by your rank and the number of individuals you acquire into your downline.
This is how all multi-level marketing firms work.
How Optavia Work?: Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?
Opavia, like any other MLM, now allows regular individuals to make money by selling its items straight to customers.
They save a lot of money by not advertising their items themselves.
The days of dirt inexpensive paid marketing are long gone.
This implies that it is entirely up to its consumers to do their advertising. Why not?
It’s a win-win situation for both sides. Both the firm and your profit. But let me tell you something.
I replied it was entirely up to their affiliates to do it?’ the advertising. However, roughly 99.99 percent of people in MLM firms do not make a penny by advertising their products.
They generate money by selling their items directly to customers.
There is a significant gap between these two concepts, both technically and ethically. Allow me to explain.
You attended a wedding…
I liked a girl and approached her, asking if she would marry me.
That is what direct selling entails.
You attend a wedding…
You looked like a girl and did not approach her because you are wealthy. Someone who knows you contacted the girl and informed her that this guy is wealthy.
The girl then approached you and requested that you marry her. This is known as advertising.
You may now pick which marketing strategy to use.
I’ve worked in marketing for over three years and have seen how dishonest direct selling can be.
Optavia Pricing: Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?
To participate in the Optavia program, you must pay $199 for the beginning package. This qualifies you to begin earning commissions.
You will then be obliged to purchase their items on a monthly basis. Most of their meal placement solutions cost more than $350, so you can estimate how much money you’ll spend if you join Optavia.
Who Optavia Meant For (And Not For)
First and foremost, Optavia is designed for consumers seeking weight loss solutions and other health-related items.
It is also intended for those who want to make money online by selling health items and registering new members in the system.
However, Optavia’s membership and goods are prohibitively costly, so they may not be suitable for you unless you have the necessary funds.
Some of their meal places also have an odd flavor that some individuals can’t stand.
Furthermore, it is not simple to make good money with this chance, since 29.79 percent of their members did not make any money at all.
As a result, if you’re serious about generating money online, I wouldn’t suggest this product.
Pros In Optavia
Opaiva’s low success rate does not imply that it lacks quality. Here are some of the things I enjoyed about it.
PROVEN HISTORY
For the past two years, I have examined several MLM firms and read numerous statistics and reports on MLMs.
Did you know that one out of every three mlms survives for more than ten years?
Optavia has been around for almost 40 years, so it is not some fresh MLM firm that will go bankrupt at any time.
Instead, it has an established track record and has been endorsed by 20,000 people so far.
Aside from that, optativa is BBB accredited and has an A+ rating.
COMPENSATION PLAN IMPROVEMENT
Its pay model is far superior to those of many other multi-level marketing companies.
They made every effort to make things basic and plain.
- Simple compensation structure
- Spend less time recruiting.
- Focus on assisting its affiliates rather than profiting from them.
POLICY ON REFUNDS
If you purchased Opavia items and are dissatisfied with them, you can request a refund at any time.
Cons In Optavia
There are many things I disliked about Optavia, and you should consider these things if you wish to enroll in Optavia.’
WEIRD TASTE
There have been several complaints concerning the flavor of Opavia products.
The majority of consumers complain that the meal replacement provided by the firm is too strange to taste.
It is understandable that you will experience difficulties when you first begin using optavia meal replacement.
After that, you will grow accustomed to it.
Another advantage is that the organization is always extending its product line, giving you additional options.
FAKE COACHES
Coaches are not physicians or someone associated with the health and care industry.
They are ordinary folks who will assist us along the path.
I am quite concerned about this since they have no knowledge of food or human nutrition. Right?
So, anytime you complain to them about bodily changes occurring within you, they would assure you that it is normal. They will try to brainwash you in different ways.
My view does not entirely rely on them.
Yes, they are more familiar with Optavia goods than you are since they used them before you.
But will they be able to counsel you as well as a nutritionist?
VERY EXPENSIVE METHOD FOR WEIGHT LOSS!!!
Optavia is a very costly method of losing weight.
Yes, you must continue to invest if you want improved health, and if you want to profit from it and create a business, this will cost you more.
When you join this multi-level marketing firm, you are pressured to purchase an optavia health kit, which costs $400.
Aside from that, you must continue to invest in costly meals like Snickers, smoothies, vitamins, and proteins in order to improve your health.
Now, I believe that hiring a coach or joining a gym would be a better investment. Isn’t it?
If you have a family of four, you must purchase four optavia health kits, which cost around $1.5k. This expense does not stop there; if you want to profit from Optavia, then…
NOT A SUSTAINABLE COMPANY
I evaluated over 300 multi-level marketing firms and found one element in common with them all.
That is their rate of failure.
Almost 99 percent of those that join MLM to make money end up losing their money.
I believe that multilevel marketing is no longer a viable business model.
Why would you choose mlms when there are more scalable, sustainable, and long-term business models available?
Unfortunately, you’re also going nowhere with Opavia.
I keep seeing comments on my website from folks who have given up after working for a decade with a multi-level marketing organization and still have an unbalanced life.
Do you want to find yourself in this situation?
The Owners Of Optavia
Dr. Wayne Scott Anderson (Dr. A) and Bradley Macdonald founded Optavia in 2016/2017.
This was after it was rebranded from another firm named “Take Shape for Life,” which was founded in 2002/2003.
Take Shape for Life was a division of Medifast, a corporation that has been delivering weight loss treatments since 1980. Optavia, on the other hand, has been operating independently since its inception in 2016/2017.
Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?
Are you still wondering whether Optavia is a pyramid scheme? So, allow me to respond. Optavia is neither a pyramid scheme nor a fraud.
Because of their pyramid-shaped pay model, MLM organizations like Optavia are commonly associated with pyramid schemes.
Nonetheless, illicit pyramid schemes provide no genuine items or services to their clients.
Optavia differs from similar schemes in that it has genuine products and its approach is not entirely reliant on recruiting.
Furthermore, this organization has been in operation for a long time, and if it were an unlawful pyramid scheme, it would have been shut down long ago.
Optavia is a reputable firm, their goods work, and there are several web testimonials to back this up. However, I believe their things are overpriced and not worth the money.
I believe they have a superior pay scheme than other similar firms out there for their MLM business opportunity.
Aside from that, I still don’t suggest it since there is a lot better and less expensive method to earn a solid living online, which I’ll describe in a moment.
Is Optavia Worth It?
Both yes and no. Because there are several conflicting reviews regarding optaiva on Google. Some said it was worth the money, while others claimed they had been duped by this MLM.
There may also be two components to these reviews.
Those who are complaining about this MLM may be their competitors who are attempting to harm the company’s reputation.
Others who think everything is OK might be their distributors and get money by giving these great reviews?
As a result, these reviews are never unbiased.
The only way to find out if Optavia is worth it is to join them and try it out for yourself.
Can You Make Money From Optavia?
Yes, you may earn money from it, but you must continue to spend money on their upsells and items.
For example, to get started, you must buy $199 upfront and another $99 to keep your phony coach.
Optavia My Final Verdict: Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme?
Yes, Opavia is a legitimate multi-level marketing organization from which you may profit. But I’d want to ask you a question.
Why not choose a long-term, sustainable, and genuine company model?
You’re simply moving in the wrong direction with mlms.
MLMs Mean Money and Time Waste.
After evaluating over 300 mlms, I feel they are doomed to fail. I’ve done network marketing and door-to-door selling. Whatever you want to call it, I accomplished it.
I’m no longer a fan of MLM.
I despise selling things to my friends and relatives.
Instead, if you want to build a legitimate and scalable business that can produce $100,000 or more per month, as most of our students do, start a lead-generating firm now.
That’s it for today’s Is Optavia Pyramid Scheme? article.
How I Make Income Online
I make a living through affiliate marketing, which is considerably superior to Optavia or any other network marketing company.
This is because you don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars only to get started, you don’t have to buy expensive items every month, and you may advertise anything from any brand.
You also do not need to recruit anyone to generate money. Do you see how affiliate marketing is superior and more adaptable than MLM?
Thanks to affiliate marketing and Wealthy Affiliate, I’ve been able to create a four-figure income every month (WA).
WA is the affiliate marketing training program that has enabled me to realize my ambitions. They provide step-by-step instructions
I know this because I knew nothing about the industry until I joined Wealthy Affiliate, and it has taught me all I know about affiliate marketing. Did I mention that getting started is entirely free?
If you are interested in joining this platform, I would gladly assist you with whatever assistance you may require. Once you’re in, just message me through the platform and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
as well as the greatest tools to help you succeed as an affiliate marketer.
You’ll also get help from myself and the other 1.9 million active members of the WA community.
It’s pretty straightforward if you’re willing to study and apply the instruction.
If you have any questions or comments on whether Optavia is a pyramid scam or not, please leave them in the comments area.
This is a very detailed review of Optavia MLM that operates in the health and wellness niche. I worked for a multilevel marketing company and know that it is almost impossible to make money with MLM business model. One has to continuously recruit new team members and build your downline, to earn override commissions from the sales of your recruits. Optavia uses the have the same model and most people make very little money.
The Optavia compensation plan is complicated, as with most MLM companies. It might be a legitimate company, but I will not recommend joining them as a health coach.
Thank you for your comment Line,
Amway is a well recognized brand in my part of the world selling weight loss and wellness products. Their products are undoubtedly good and accepted to be good by the general public here. Breaking this monopoly would be a fairly difficult task. Selling Optavia products with no brand recognition would not even please close friends and relatives to buy this product. Besides, I am in complete agreement that 73 to 99 percent lose their investments in MLM marketing. Also, the joining fees is quote high compared to Amway. Hence, a complete no-go from me.
Thanks for sharing this review.
Regards,
Rohit
Thank you for your comment
Thank you for this MLM but not Fraud review of Octavia which sells weight loss products. The sale happens through multilevel marketing.
They are a legitimate company with products backed by science!
I am not sure why these products are so expensive honestly.
It works even if you pay a lot for weight loss. So the company is around for 4 decades.
But would you benefit from this? If it is me I don’t like the system, the untrained, unprofessional health coaches, going around asking my friends to join my venture.
Moreover, I don’t enjoy upselling and the startup fee is too much which really makes no sense. There are other better platforms around and more ways like lead generations, and affiliate marketing where you can really make an income online to afford your living.
I think affiliate mmarketing is the best way to make money online. Thank you for your comment !!
Thank you for your informative article on this company. Unfortunately I have been involved with many MLM companies and usually start out all hyped up and believe I can be one of the top earners in the company. My thought is that if they can do it so can I, but just like you pointed out the success rate of these kinds of businesses is very low. I also hate the fact that alot of the times you are pressured to bombard those around you with all their products..
Thank you for your opinion friend!!
As an affiliate marketer I am always looking for things to add to my website. I had thought that Optavia might be a good fit. I appreciate this article and the thorough review of this company. I have not problem with an MLM model. Everyone, unless self-employed works to help pay the salary of the people above them. I am concerned that the percentage of those who make money is very low. Also, you mention that the products have a strange taste and are pretty expensive. I am not thrilled with the $199 startup fee although I am sure you get a lot of product for that. Thanks for this review.
Thank you for your comment friend!!
Hello mr.success,
A friend mentioned this to me, but since I do not trust MLMs I was very wary of it. Glad I found this review that pretty much confirmed my suspicion. Making money on these things require a lot of chasing, this sounds like amway with extra steps.
Something like this should just use a subscription model if their products really worked and that way they don’t require other people to coach you or sell you stuff. Sigh.. now I just have to forward this to my friend and try to talk him out of it, thank you kind, sir.
Thank you for your opinion Victor,
I had never heard of Optavia before reading your post! Unfortunately, it seems like only a small percentage of people who join these companies ever reach the top. I know it is achievable, but it’s not always for everyone! I appreciate your detailed review of the program, you include both the pros and the cons which I think is very important when it comes to looking at a program.
Thank you for your comment Jordan
Thank you for this very in-depth review of Optavia. Like many other companies, they are definitely not a pyramid scheme, as they actually sell real products, but I think with it being yet another wellness product company, it will be quite difficult for distributors to sell significant amounts of the product to make a worthwhile income.
I also don’t like that you have to purchase a kit in order to start selling their products. I prefer recommending products that don’t require any upfront payments or holding of stock. And why limit yourself when you can sell just about anything you like using the affiliate marketing model.
Thank you for your comment friend
Would I get more since its more of a price?
What makes it a pyramid scheme if its selling product to people?
Wow, it’s like having a robot that’s your nurse/maid which gives you the right food and makes you strong. What a cool company that Optavia is doing. It is helping people make a change with their bodies and that is very impressive to do.
They give you meals which can work with your body and it can digest it well. they’ll help you on a fitness path and a diet to be on so you can be in the best shape of your life.
Making sales for referring people are those who need a change if not who want a change. I’d definitely recommend this post to family, friends, and the community. smart move to go to as well, gets the words out there.
It’s not a pyramid scheme, you do gain profits but in a safer manner not in any illegal way like they make a big deal out of it for nothing like always. As long as you put in the time and effort and put aside the nervousness and being scared then you are going to be okay with this program.
Thank you for your comment. But I rrecommend if you want to make money, you should do my #1 recommendation
I’ve had a lot of experience with MLM and it’s a perfectly legitimate business model and is not a pyramid scheme as they are illegal. The most frustrating thing for me is in order for you to succeed you need to be good at recruiting. It doesn’t matter if you are good at recruiting if your team is not great at it.
Thank you for your comment Oliver, Yes MLM is a legit company But not everyone can succeed with it. That’s why I Show my #1 recommendation for all.
Hey great post! It’s full of useful information and answers quite a few questions which I had in my mind!
Optavia pyramid does seem genuine in a way though I’m not a fan of products which are to be only purchased through a company, I prefer very much that it be available physically in store.
Like you have stated optavia pyramid scheme doesn’t seem like it’ll stay afloat for too long however I haven’t much information on these types of business, though affiliate marketing is usually quite a promising way to make money!
Thank you for your comment friend
Well written and very detailed post, good job! One thing that I’ve learned is that not every business that uses multi level marketing is a scam. I’m not a fan of the business model, but that doesn’t mean that what they’re selling is bad. I know quite a few people who have lost significant weigh with Optavia.
Thank you for your comment Friend!!
It’s good to see that they’ve been in the business world for over 20+ something years, and I’m also really glad they’ve incorporated well-known food ideas such as pancakes and Mac-and-cheese. One thing that does make me a little paranoid is the fact that they’re promoting “health coaches” who are not certified professionals. They’re people like you and me, meaning that they may not obtain the right knowledge to help with certain health conditions such as: diabetes, gastroparesis, kidney failure, among so many other life risk illnesses.
Thank you for your opinion friend
Thank you for a very insightful post. As someone who has heard of many online programs this is the first time I have heard of Optavia. After reading this I realized that this maybe be a scam. I find anything involving health and there supplements to be very low in success. It’s hard to know if they work or not. That of MLM companies usually give off false company. So it’s important to do research before signing up . That way one isn’t all excited and waste money just for a false hope. So thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your comment friend!
This is a great review. Optavia is a good platform to make money for people who have a rich audience to sell to. Personally, I do not encourage or support this type of weight loss platform because of many factors. The company marketers are just selling the optavia weight loss products to make money and not because of its effectiveness, even the health coach as well. Before taking or buying such expensive weight loss products research the effectiveness and side effects.
Thank you for your opinion Friend!!
I have always look at health as a juicy point to make money. Because its a wide market where every nody visists so its always been one of my interest point. But i must say a big thank you for your detail look at Optavia. You really made me see its MLM structure and how difficult it will be breaking the marketing and profit barriers
Thank you for your comment friend!
I have a friend who worked for a MLM company for a short period of time. When he realized that he could not make much money there, he left them. It’s probably like that in all MLM companies. It’s good that you write articles like this and inform people. Thank you for your honest review.
Thank you for your comment friend !!
The problem with many MLMs as this one is that while they may not be scams it is very hard to sell their products and you need to have a large network in order to make any meaningful sales. As such it is extremely hard for a beginner to have any success and surely is going to loose a lot of money trying to sell some of their products. Personally I believe there are far easier ways to start an online income.
Thank you for your comment Friend!
While it may be true that some people can make money in an MLM, I think that most people distrust the model and would try to avoid it. I feel like there are constantly new diet plans and pills being sold over the counter for weight loss, and I feel that this is something that might be better handled by medical professionals who understand an individual’s unique challenges and medical history.
Thank you for your opinion Friend!
I have had experience with three MLM programmes, but Optavia was not one of them. I had never heard of Optavia before reading your review.
As you say, Optavia MLM is not a pyramid scheme. To my knowledge, no MLM programme is a pyramid scheme. Money is made from becoming a member, but it is hard work. Approaching friends, neighbours, and strangers in the hope they will sign-up for the MLM programmes I was a member of, I found to be soul-destroying! But that was my personal experience. Some people enjoy and prosper from an MLM business. That has to be so for Optavia to have been active for almost forty years.
What I question most about Optavia MLM is that the Coaches are not qualified Health Clinicians. I would have my doubts about the advice they provide regarding weight loss. In saying that, Optavia MLM continues to survive in the business world. Therefore it is obvious that this programme does work and is a source of income for many people.
Thank you for your opinion friend!
I agree that all MLM companies are not scams, but it’s very difficult to make a decent amount of income from them. I am a rep for Avon, and at this point, I do it more for loyal customers that need products than I do for the money because you make pennies if you are not selling hundreds of products a month.
With that being said, Avon is still considered a classic to many older women, and a lot of their beauty products are still top-notch. They still get sales consistently online and by direct order.
Weight loss meal plans seem highly competitive at this point because there are so many companies left and right claiming that their meal plans will help with weight loss. And the “health” coaches seem like they would do more harm than good. All it would take is a few customers to realize that these are not health or nutrition experts and they would easily just go and buy Nutrisystem.
Finally, people do not have $200 to invest in a business model when they don’t even know if it’s going to be successful.
This whole company is a no-go for me. But you did an awesome, unbiased review of them. I enjoyed learning about this company.

Thank you for your post over optavia! I have only recently heard of this company because I’ve been trying to lose weight. I know there are a lot of mlm schemes out there. This one does seem legit but like you pointed out, the majority of people just don’t even break even with these kinds of businesses. I’ve never tried the products though. I hate that they have a weird taste to them. I really need a good diet plan.
Thank you for your opinion Friend!
Optavia’s meal replacements seem like they could be a valuable way to lose weight. True meal replacements to me should be similar to actual meals. This is why I like shakes, pancakes and mac and cheese, the best. I feel that they need to continue to expand their offerings to include more of these types of meal replacements. How about steak and potatoes or lasagna. These would be terrific. Having a coaching system and community support is a great addition. Fiber-rich, low in sugar and carbs, high quality proteins and probiotics are excellent products. Being Gluten free with no sweeteners is impressive also. If the program is effective at its main objective of helping people lose weight; then why not promote it as a MLM company by use of the people who truly benefit from the products? There is nothing to lose if the program is truly beneficial.

Thank you for a detailed and unbiased review of Optavia.
It may not be a scam and their products and services may be great and effective. However, I tend to shy away from MLMs because I am neither good at recruiting people into the system nor am I good at selling physical products. I also think that $199 for a beginner’s package is a lot of money, plus the money one would have to put out monthly. What a rip-off!
I joined other MLMs before but I did it only to avail of the dealer’s discount because I was using their products.
I was all the more convinced that Optavia is not an ideal way to make money online when I got to the part where you said, “Most individuals who join Optavia lose money rather than make money.”
Well, at least Optavia was honest enough to declare this ☺. If people still choose to get in despite learning about this, then that’s on them.

A great and rich post Mr. Success!
Firstly, I’d like to say I agree with your summary of MLMs, as I’ve tried them before and the effort needed to be successful is a very heavy toll and when you take a step back and see the big picture it quickly feels like you’re being taken advantage of by the big company.
Second I always appreciate someone who’s willing to take the time to do the heavy lifting legwork and find out who’s full of it and trying to scam those of us who want to be successful in the online business world.
I also agree with you about the important of building a long term, life long committed success story by putting in the hard work for online virtual real estate that’s owned and control by us as individuals.
Thank you again for taking the time to write and share with us your discoveries on Optavia.

I have never heard of Optavia, but this is very interesting!
I’ve been in Network Marketing and I’ve had many success. Not all MLM companies are Pyramid Schemes.
I can totally agree that there are many companies who don’t last long, but being that Optavia has been around for almost 40 years, that shows their credibility!
This is a very costly method of losing weight and as a health coach i don’t recommend it. There are cheaper options!
Food is already expensive!
