In my opinion, American Online Jobs does have some redeeming qualities to it. For the time being, I’m not going to categorize it as a straightforward con. However, as I mentioned earlier, I’d like to draw your attention to a few warning signs…

Red Flag #1 – No SSL Certificate

You will notice that the AmericanOnlineJobs.com website is not protected by encryption when you go there.

It is recommended that a website that is almost 2 years old have at the very least an SSL Certificate (encrypted with https rather than http). This SSL feature, which offers security and credibility benefits, is now standard on all legitimate and authoritative websites.

That’s the first warning sign, then!

Red Flag #2 – Weird Pre-Screening Questions

At each of the AOJ’s locations, there is a set of questionnaires that are intended to serve as the initial step in the applicant screening process. Although this seems like a reasonable format and requirement when applying for a job, the questionnaires on American Online Job are actually not working and are only there for presentation purposes (to make the site look legit).

I gave it my best shot to answer ALL of the questions (there are probably around 8 of them), but I can only answer one of them.

When I try to answer another question, the checkbox for the previous question always gets unchecked. Even though I gave the incorrect response to their final question, “Are You Ready to Started Now?” (the correct answer is “Yes”), I was still able to pass the screening and was taken to the page where I could click the button that said “CLICK HERE TO APPLY NOW.”

Funny as it may sound, the truth is that you can gain access to the website even if you do not answer any of the questions or if you answer any of the questions incorrectly (like I have).

This is a warning sign because it demonstrates very plainly that their websites—yes, all of the websites I mentioned above—were not made in a professional manner.

Red Flag #3 – The Click Here to Apply Now Button is Fake

Since I had already informed you that I had no trouble gaining access to the Click Here to Apply Now Button, I went ahead and clicked on it in the hopes of locating some kind of application form. To tell you the truth, it led me straight to a casino game!

Seeing as how I wasn’t there to participate in a game, it was only natural for me to click the back button.

When you try clicking that “Click Here to Apply” button on your own, I have no idea where it will take you, but I’m fairly certain it won’t be to a page where you can submit an application for a job.

Red Flag #4 – Weird Step Number 2

Both step 1 (the questionnaire) and step 2 procedures can be found on every one of the AOJ Online Jobs sites. I’ve already told you about their strange questionnaire in the first step, but the button in the second step is even more annoying…

After clicking on the Step 2 link, I was taken to a page that contained a video that provided a demonstration of how users can create accounts on survey sites.

Additionally, they are providing instructions regarding the completion of at least three surveys (lol). It made me laugh because when I went there, I wasn’t looking for a job answering surveys; I was looking for one online. And to rub salt in the wound, they’re even giving eight “bonuses” in the form of eight survey sites and get-paid-to sites to which I can sign up and get paid for my participation.

There is, of course, nothing wrong with participating in online surveys (provided they are legitimate), but that is not what AOJ is advertising. This is yet another warning sign because, as far as I can tell, you’re supposed to be there for a job that allows you to work from home, right?

Red Flag #5 – The Click Here to Access the Training/Members Area is Fake

When you access their Members Area by clicking on the Training button, you will be prompted to enter your name and email address. After that, you will be shown a series of videos that are intended to instruct you on how to conduct successful referral marketing.

When I said a while ago that I believe the training materials they provide have some value, I was specifically referring to those materials. When I say “some”, I’m being generous.

If you were looking for training of this kind, I believe that you would be better off conducting your own research rather than using their video training modules because those modules actually offer very little value.

Again, I believe this to be a warning sign because, once again, this is not what I was expecting when I signed up for this. In addition, their instructional videos are essentially useless.

You went there in order to get a job working online (not for a tutorial on affiliate marketing)

However, despite the fact that it is not a traditional online “job,” affiliate marketing is a legitimate means of generating income.

Red Flag #6 – Multiple Domain Names and Websites

I have already mentioned this, but I want to bring it up again as a warning sign because reputable websites typically use just one business name and one logo throughout the entire site. At least two different logos, as well as numerous iterations of the company name and various website addresses, are used by American Online Jobs.

At this point in my review of AOJ Online Jobs, I believe it is appropriate for me to state that I believe they are a scam. At the very least, they are misleading us by acting as though they are a legitimate job site, despite the fact that this is not the case.

• Training videos are a complete waste of time because there is very little useful information presented in them (some only last a couple of minutes). In addition, getting there will take a significant amount of your time (with all their questionnaires, steps to follow, sites to create accounts with, etc.).
• Too many ads – If you are looking for work online, their websites are packed with advertisements that you might accidentally click on. Hello, I’m aware that advertisements can be found on this website as well (they help to pay the costs of hosting and reviewing products for you). However, when it comes to AOJ, they are significantly more prying and less reliable.
• Unknown individuals as owners or founders – AOJ is one of those websites that does not disclose the identities of its employees or members of its team. People who have watched their videos are only familiar with a woman named Brenda (because she acts as the narrator in each and every one of the videos).
• I was duped into applying for a job on CareerBuilder.com by a posting that appeared to be from American Online Jobs. Even though CareerBuilder.com is an established name in the employment marketplace, the company cannot truly guarantee that all of the advertisements that are posted on its website are genuine. In point of fact, AOJ consistently utilizes phony advertisements that, when clicked on, take users to one of their websites. This is something that irritates me because, once more, they are attempting to deceive users.

Because of the dishonest practices that they employ, I would place AOJ at a level 9 on a scale that ranges from 1 to 10, with 10 representing the highest level of scamming. The fact that you can legitimately make money through online survey sites, get-paid-to sites, and affiliate marketing – all of which are covered in their program and training – leads me to believe that they are not a complete and total scam.

However, these things are NOT data-entry clerk jobs that pay between $12 and $24 per hour. The website known as American Online Jobs is not being truthful about a great many things, most notably the fact that it is an online job site.

Hey, I’m aware that it’s already difficult to find work online; however, it’s unacceptable for me to send you on a fruitless search for a job. Do not make things more difficult for yourself by going to any of AOJ’s websites and looking for what they claim to be legitimate work at home opportunities, as that is not what American Online Jobs is. Instead of making things more difficult for yourself, you should avoid making things easier for yourself by not doing this.

Affiliate marketing is something you might want to look into if you are interested in AOJ’s referral marketing; however, affiliate marketing is not a job; rather, it is an online business that can be very lucrative; however, it is not offered by American Online Jobs.
